Saturday, May 30, 2015 - Powerful nose of strong red fruit. Starts off more medium bodied and pure, but after an hour open, the wine matchs the nose; fruit-forward, CA style pinot noir. Lots of red raspberry upfront, backed with strawberry, wild berry and red cherry. Adds in some very nice mineral and earthy notes on the finish along with fine grained, integrated tannins. It has just enough structure to balance the fruit. If you enjoy this style, I'd drink it in the next year or two to savor the richness of the red fruit. I believe it will soften and integrate (given some time) and it certainly has enough fruit that I don't worry about it fading in the near term. For the style and especially for the low cost, this is an excellent example.
