Sunday, July 28, 2013 - Medium red color with medium transparency. Beguiling aromas of red, blue, and black fruit with vanilla, spice, and floral elements intermingling. Palate is initially sweet and red fruited but opens up and expands with some time in the glass. This has the silky texture and kaleidoscopic character I seek in great Pinot Noir. The finish is medium-long and this is a compelling drink right now. I expect it to shut down and emerge later as a lovely bottle for the early long term (say 15-20 years), but no need to wait if you have its siblings in reserve for later. Drink or hold.
