Saturday, October 5, 2013 - Initially bombarded with quite a bit of oak on the nose with gobs of vanilla and cedar. Put in the decanter and let sit for 45 minutes and then consumed over the next two hours. As it opened up, the vanilla began to subside and tart red fruits, plum, and spices appeared on the nose. The palate was more balanced than the smell, and had nice but not over-the-top red and blue fruit flavors with some spice and cinnamon towards the finish. Nice texture and mouth feel. Enjoyed the wine, but I think it will be better in a few years.
