Saturday, January 14, 2017 - 2008 First Vintage Syrah Retrospective.
Decanted 1 hour. This was one of the most amazing bottles of Syrah I've had in a long time. Very savory, with brine, roasted meat, green olive, black pepper, and blackberry fruit. Very rich and palate-coating, with a finish that just keeps going...20-30 seconds. I could have drank this all night! Drank this before a 2008 Four Cairn Syrah from Napa and this one took the prize, hands down. Drink now - 2028.
