Sunday, December 2, 2012 - This is the bottle of Alban I've been waiting for! There is a very meaty funk in Alban's syrahs that I often find off putting. I have had hints of this in the past with pandora, but with this bottling, the grenache is in perfect harmony and the funkiness is actually quite appealing. Alban's prices now reflect a QPR that I am not willing to pay so I'm down to just a few bottles. Far from oxidized or aged, this wine is still fresh, young and brooding.
