Tuesday, October 18, 2016 - Found in a dark corner of the cellar. Figured no time better than the present, and maybe a couple years ago to drink it, so Tuesday night here we go:
It's translucent ruby in color. On the nose there's pepper, roasted meat, mushroom, asphalt, licorice, and green herbal notes all around a core of ripe but not too ripe fruit. Round, yet structured with the tannins for the most part receding to the background. This has lovely balance, a bit on the plump side, but with enough savory and meaty notes to keep it interesting. I like this wine quite a bit. On the back side of peak, but still very enjoyable. 90pts
