Tuesday, March 25, 2014 - The Monkey was fresh, fragrant, and delicious. Tasting it, I thought it was very true to its blend. The wine started very much like a chardonnay, with a little limoncello, lemon zest, tropical and citrus notes, and proceeded to a very Voignier-like floral mid-palate of jasmine and honeysuckle. The finish reminds me more of a sauvignon blanc, even though none is included in this blend. Subtle mineral notes of wet stones. A very hedonistic style, yet I found it surprisingly though-provoking as well.
