Saturday, April 8, 2017 - Opera Wine 2017 - 100 Great Producers (Verona, Italy): A decade more before it's ready? I should think so, for my palate anyway. That said, I enjoyed it, but it didn't wow me in any way, it didn't move me. Perhaps the inner beauty isn't ready to reveal itself yet, or perhaps it's just not there, that this is all there's going to be. Who can say at this young stage, and for that matter, perhaps the bottle was less than ideal. Either way, given today's performance, I would not be looking to acquire this wine for my cellar - at 52, I'm not sure I'd be alive to enjoy it if/when it decides to become glorious, assuming it can; I've seen what these can do after 20 years, and the wait's almost always worth it. HOLD!

12/14/2017 7:08:00 PM - I feel you. I am 58 and collecting wine is a bitter sweet experience. Sweet because I enjoy drinking and collecting bitter it reminds me I am getting older. Like the 2015s Bordeaux are supposed to be a good vintage however one has to cellar it for 20 + years!

4/7/2019 8:45:00 AM - Being in the late 50s I share the "frustration", especially given the wines of this wine in my cellar are of magnum size. But I give it a go in 5-6 years or so :-)
