Friday, June 4, 2021 - Prior bottle was two years and 8 months ago and this wine has improved nearly exactly along the lines I'd hoped. Blackberry and black cherry on the nose, with an undercurrent of light leather, menthol, spices and floral qualities. Between medium and full bodied with the same combination of blackberry and black cherry that my prior bottle showed. Upfront retains a nice burst of youthful brightness, but the mid-body - just stellar. Elegant, refined and nuanced, the fruit notes are spectacular. Tannins are fine grained and integrated and when combined with the acidity, provide the backbone. But it's the balance that sets this wine apart. Other may be more complex or maybe have more depth, but this wine is so deftly balanced that it drinks like pure silk. Clearly has many years of life ahead of it, but I may open my next bottle as soon as November 2021 because it simply showing too well to take any risks.
