Sunday, December 31, 2023 - Given the age, this was surprisingly fresh and fully alive. Stand A in the bottle, but cork 85-90% soaked, so maybe good that it was opened today. In the nose a lot of forest soil notes, forest moss, and pine. On the pale a soft texture and surprisingly fresh minerality. Very, very enjoyable. It stayed alive in the glass for hours throughout the evening. Enjoyed along with a 1999 Cheval Blanc and yet both where great wines, the Estournel took the price. P95+
