Saturday, November 26, 2011 - From an nice looking bottle, this wine had a deep red/purple center and some orange at the rim. The nose featured black fruits, mocha, and a distinct woodsy/tobacco note that made it a bit off for me. It was almost as if the barrels were a bit too charred.

This wine was a bit tough at first but over the course of 3+ hours it rounded out nicely to show nice forward fruit and subtle rounded tannin. An attractive wine in the mouth. It will be interesting to see if other bottle have the same problem in the nose.
