Monday, June 20, 2011 - Decanted about 30 min. then drank over 3h. Color is well evolved, ruby red with an orange rim. The fruit on the nose is rather restrained with a streak of alcohol. The palate is somewhat dispapointing, initially I get what somebody described as wet cardboard, later an oxidized / Sherry-like touch becomes more prominent while tannins are still present. Rather short finish. Cannot imagine this will get any better, disappointing for such a reputable Brunello producer in a decent vintage.
