Sunday, September 29, 2013 - Well, the oak was obvious. It was sort of like drinking a 2x4, with blackberry sauce. But even so, the acidity and fruit seemed to complement the oak rather than take the smack sitting down. I liked it, and anyone who likes the taste of oaky red wine would enjoy this, I think. In my case, I prefer this to 99% of the oaked red CA or WA wines in the same price range ($15), probably because the alcohol was not obtrusive and the acid was high enough to actually drink along with food.
