Saturday, July 4, 2015 - Splash decant and strained for sediment (mild) ... This is our second to last bottle of this vintage and I can attest it's really singing right now. Smooth as silk, without a hint of heat, despite it's rather imposing ABV. Rich, blue-black fruit to open, but not too primary. Just a little cream (not overly oaky), and tannins are intact, but sweetened somewhat. Still some acid on the backend, with leather, smoke and spice rounding out the flavor profile. A great, big Paso Syrah with some substance and structure. No one makes 'em like Russell at Herman Story!
