Friday, November 8, 2013 - This current offering is not a sweet wine, and actually is quite serious. I am not a big fan because it way over oaked, but the grape growing and wine making seem first rate. It has rich dark color. The nose reeks of oak, probably not from barrels. There is solid viscosity and mouth feel. The hidden fruit has ripe California flavors. They don't tell the varietals. There is some raspberry, blackberry and orange peel. Nicely integrated acid, tannin and alcohol.
