Sunday, March 31, 2024 - Drank on Easter Sunday with Lamb Chops and an assortment of spring veggies. Somewhere in between medium garnet and deep tawny in color. Tertiary aromas coming off the nose from the jump with sweet leather and stewed mixed berries. Palate was very nice with mostly resolved tannins. Aged leather, sumac, and mixed berries coming through, with blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries, and a wild spice character giving structure on the finish. This still had life left, but was very nicely integrated. I don't have much experience with Southern Rhone wines on the "nicer" spectrum, but this was real treat. Like an old cowboy - Rough around the edges, but the age has given wisdom and mellowed him out. Fantastic with Lamb.
