Sunday, April 9, 2006 - Opened and "Audouzed" for 6 hours. A little musty smelling right after opening, but that quickly went away. Scents of dark cherries and leather and a bit of oxidation at first. With the small amount poured out into a glass, I was amazed at how deeply colored this wine was, though, naturally, there was bricking out towards the rim. As the wine opened up, more cherries and raspberries showed up. On the palate, flavors came and went throughout the evening and it had wonderful light weight in the mouth with nice acidity. When they were there, tastes of sweet cherries, raspberries and leather were delicious. The finish was a bit short. All in alll, a very nice wine, though not nearly as complex as I would have expected.
