Sunday, August 4, 2013 - Pale straw and clear in the glass, just a slight hint of grassy green highlights. Muted nose of sea breeze with a slight floral note. Lean on the attack with high acid. The palate issues forth with lemon peel, under ripe apricot, the bitter note of nectarine skin, the salinity of oyster nectar, and a hard and tight mineral finish that persists for quite some time. As it warmed, it gained a touch of palate density, but remained on the lean side with plenty of salinity and acid. Later in the evening the finish brought to mind an icy granita made from oyster nectar and pink grapefruit.
Delicious and interesting young Chenin Blanc with persistent finish.
