Friday, February 8, 2013 - The nose is just so beautiful. It still has the same dark, jammy fruits as previously noted, but the warm, earthy notes are coming more to the forefront and there are now notes of earth and black licorice as well. The wood notes, smoke, and vanilla are just a bit more pronounced than they were even just a couple of months ago. The wine overall has smoothed and is more fully integrated, yet it is still a powerful rendition of this varietal. This is a superbly well balanced wine, and the lengthy finish is just wonderful.
