Tuesday, December 21, 2021 - 84 % Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc, 2% Cabernet Sauvignon
from 15 ha limestone clay plateau over asteriated limestone
and vines of average age 32 yrs planted 6,600/ha.
Manual harvests. Gravity vatting of whole berries.
Separate vinification partly in large, open-top oak fermenters,
the rest in concrete tanks. Reductant ageing on fine lees.
Aged 16-20 months in barrels (60% new, 40% one wine)
14.5% Abv.
Proprietors: Famille Corre-Macquin (Benoit Corre , Bruno Corre and
Marie-Jacques Charpentier) - descendants of Albert Macquin (1852 -1911)
Winemakers: Nicolas Thienpont (since 1994), Stéphane Derenoncourt (since 1990)

A(ccuray)=2: Deep ruby/garnet. Plush Merlot blend.
B(alance)=2: Robust components still awaiting full integration.
C(omplexity)=2: Dark berries, graphite, licorice, mineral
D(epth)=2: Chewy mouthfeel. Full, even palate and finish.
