Sunday, February 9, 2014 - With grilled pork chops at home. Ruby, medium-dark, slightly translucent. Fairly pronounced aroma of red and black fruit, a little cinnamon and allspice, just a touch of anise. Medium-full bodied for a pinot noir, excellent fruit on the palate, nicely balanced. Moderate tannin but well integrated. Very long nice aftertaste. Overall an excellent wine, may still improve and soften with another couple of years, but very drinkable now. However, we definitely prefer our reference point Walter Hansel, which has more Burgundian characteristics, and is much less expensive.
