Wednesday, March 27, 2024 - Nose: Stewed / preserved black and red fruit (blackberry, black cherry, dates, raisins), wood notes (oak, cedar), cigar box / tobacco, eucalyptus, warming spices, forest floor.

Palate: Follows the nose, plus a black licorice note. Powerful and concentrated, with chewy but fairly well-integrated tannin, medium acid, medium+ body, long finish. Has that amazing "old wine" mouthfeel which I'm not sure how to describe.

This was a WineBid purchase, so I was a little wary about the condition of the wine, but it turned out great! Drinking well now, but I expect it could go another decade. While this wine is excellent, it's less complex / evolved less than what I was hoping for.
