Tuesday, July 14, 2015 - My Birthday 2015 (Pine Green): Tasted blind. Poured into decanter and aired for 1.5 hours before drinking.
Appearance is clear, medium garnet colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with a lovely bouquet of mushrooms, earth, dark red cherries, slight floral rose petals. Developed.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol, silky smooth integrated high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of earth, mushrooms, tar, tea leaves, dark red cherries, sour red cherries. Very long finish. Wow this Barolo is gorgeously elegant, and I know what people mean by Burgandian.
Outstanding quality. Traditional-styled Barolo. In drinking window now. Enjoy over next 5+ years.
Maceration of 3-4 weeks. Aged 4 years in large Slavonian botti.
