Monday, January 27, 1992 - At home at dinner (ravioli stuffed with ricotta) with K. This wine reminds me very much of a Heitz "Martha's." Deep, dark ruby, in fact almost opaque. Extremely viscous, with thick, fat legs and lots of extract. Somewhat brooding appearance. Tell-tale eucalyptus in the nose really comes to the fore on the palate. Certainly has plenty of guts for the long haul, but that minty, eucalyptus quality really helps make it drinkable now. Actually, the eucalyptus is a little too much. 5-11-15-7: 88/100.
