Wednesday, August 6, 2014 - “Sangiovese-Flight”, in August 2014 (non-blind), Wine 1. The wine was medium to dark ruby in colour and offered cherry, some chocolate, some coffee, leather, tobacco, mushroom and earthy notes on the nose. On the palate the wine showed cherry, coffee, a hint of cocoa, leather, some tobacco, mushroom, tea and earthy notes, paired with medium-plus acidity, medium-plus drying tannin and very good length. A medium-bodied Chianti with average complexity and concentration. It seemed sweeter and more developed, less structured and less long-lived than the 2008. Drink now.
