Sunday, December 23, 2018 - Xmas party at Kheam Hock. Aired in decanter for about 30mins before drinking over the next 1 hour.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, purplish ruby colour. Legss.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of vanilla coated black cherries, blackberrries, blackcurrant, cassis, licorice, and ending with cedar wood. Hint of tobacco and emerging earth with more air in decanter. Developing.
On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), fine high tannins, just making it to full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of black cherries, blackberries, blackcurrant with a fine layer of vanilla coating, cassis, licorice, cedar wood. Long finish.
Very good quality. Elegant refined classic style. Approachable with some air in decanter, otherwise can start drinking this in another 3+ years. Oak started to integrate already.
63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc.
