Sunday, May 17, 2015 - Decanted for 3 hours. Upon opening full nose w/strong backbone. Dark leather color w/very good legs. Initial taste prior to letting open: Full well rounded taste w/very good oak & tannins that held well to the mouth. Not exceptionally big like Brunello but a very strong presence. Full mouth feel of tar, leather. After decanting; Heavier feel w/fuller finish. Flavors of tar, anise, leather. Still very nice nose that supports the flavors of the wine . More length at this time. This wine cries out for Parmagino Reggianon & Salumi! Edge came off after 4 hours & paired well w/pasta & leeks & pancetta in a cream sauce. Still had very good body. A most enjoyable wine!
