Thursday, February 23, 2012 - Very almondy on the nose, with floral notes and a deep butter tone that has melon and pineapple fruit laid ove it. A bit heavy at first and perhaps still carrying a lot of sweetness from the oak used here. This comes off as a touch candied, with pineapple and lightly tropical flavors framed with fairly assertive oak that is obvious on the palate and through the long finish. This does have some nice mineral details and a bracingly palate refreshing finish, but it is overtly oaky. 88pts
