2011 Puzelat-Bonhomme Cheverny Blanc

Community Tasting Note

Sunday, November 2, 2014 - Holy smokes, this was brilliant! I've had one or two Cheverny before, but nothing like this. Intensity, complexity, long finish. What I remember: grapefruit up front, some Granny Smith apple, and lots more (that I didn't pay close enough attention to give names to) up through a long mineral finish. Bought this bottle just a month ago, but now that I look into acquiring a bunch more, boom, it's all gone. Well, now I know for next year.

Its serious Loire acidity was perfect with pan-fried hake (with mashed celery root and fresh cranberry beans) the first night, then its complexity stood it in great stead with Indian fish in a complex yogurt sauce the next evening.
