Saturday, April 9, 2022 - This pours honeyed gold, and wafts aromas of Opal apple, honeysuckle, creme brûlée, banana peel, and pineapple. Medium bodied with round, lush acid that drives a substantive mouthfeel, the years have treated this quite well. As it sits in the mouth, the acid takes on extra texture that gives the wine extra depth. The subtle, mature, and slightly sweet flavors include guava, strawberry, lime zest, faint gooseberry, white pepper, and slate. This might’ve been more boisterous in its youth, but the honeyed depth is just gorgeous.
