Wednesday, December 15, 2010 - The 2008 Xavier Vignon Gigondas is drinking perfectly right now. The nose reveals garrigue, kirsch and a tone of creamy vanilla. The palate is pleasant with a medium long finish lasting about 25 seconds. With a nice acidity and a bit tweaky tannins, the overall impression is "good now, drink up and smile". There is no doubt though, that this is excellent craftsmanship in the vineyard and winery. Score is 88-89.
