Friday, March 4, 2011 - Initially a powerful dark nose of pencil lead and dark fruits, it developed over 1,5 hours in the decanter and became more complex with new aromas of wet leather and barnyard. In the mouth this has still quite prominent tannins, although these are smooth and the mouthfeel is nicely velvety. The aftertaste is long and keeps coming back again and again. A clearly outstanding wine now, I would expect this to still have at least a decade of upside potential left.
