Tuesday, May 17, 2011 - Pichon Dinner - Lalande vs. Baron (Palena - Washington, DC): I was blown away by this wine. The nose is full of fresh berries, tobacco, smokey minerals, violets and earthen tones like mushrooms and soil. Palate combines the power of the 1996 with the texture and balance of the 1983. Great finish with lingering earthen tones and the always present floral tones.
