Sunday, September 30, 2012 - Roars out of the bottle with a heavenly bouquet of cedar, tobacco and oodles of cassis. This is sexy, silky with a plush, big palate impact and a great core of claret fruit, together with a spicy, exotic flair (for Bordeaux) that bepseaks to the unusual cepage at this chateau (lots of merlot, fairly high petit verdot). This is mature but comes across as young next to the '83. Bouquet lovers will prefer the '83 today, but the '89 packs more oomph on the palate. I love '80s P-L. Excellent
