Sunday, January 28, 2018 - Last bottle in 2013 and waiting did NOT disappoint! Again, past notes apply and most especially the Burgundian/Barolo reference. Opened about 1 hour prior to drinking but the taste from PnP was incredible. This wine is incredibly balanced with great fruit, integrated tannins, silky smooth mouth feel with a lingering spicy finish. Structured legs seemed evident of a big Spanish wine yet the wine was silky smooth. Initial color was showing rust at the rim however, after an hour it was not to be seen. The nose was Burgundian with smoke, blood and bright cherries. Was the perfect wine with tapas at Arroz in DC which is a must go to if you have opportunity. The blend of Spanish, Moroccan and African flavors is incredible and this light with its light, medium body yet bold flavors paired perfectly.
