Wednesday, December 26, 2012 - Very tight at first open, needs a good three hour decant to show its potential. Very rich and full of big gripping blackberry flavors, with some sweetness and vanilla from the oak. It starts to develop some decent tertiary flavors by day two, with a decent meatiness and some white pepper. It's on the bigger side for a coastal syrah, with solid yet yielding tannins and has a good long finish as well. Hold for another year at a minimum.
