91 Points

Friday, April 5, 2013 - Nose: Fascinating aromas of tar and creosote at first. After aeration complex aromas of assorted herbs, moss, sweet plum, and cassis. Palate: Dark and red fruits together with soft tannins, good acidity and a light to medium length finish. While I would agree with a previous reviewer that this is light and un-Carlisle-like I really like this wine as it is elegant and balanced. Also like the 13.8% alc levels. Nice to see Carlisle diversify their style and make a finesse driven wine...shows just how great they are at winemaking. If there is one fault it is not the best QPR at $27.50/btl but other than that this is a really good effort. 91+ points. SO glad I have been on their list for years. These guys rock!
