Saturday, January 18, 2014 - Popped and poured. Olive, white pepper, sanguine notes mixed with tart fruits, mostly red in tone but also some darker fruits. Terrific acidity and medium weight. Didn't wow us this time but there is a half a bottle left so we will see how a day of air affects it. Day 2: I like this better today. The fruit is more blue in tone and the wine feels more balanced. Not as big as many of Carlisle's syrahs. I'll decant for a while next time. Day 3: this has held up very well and now shows lots of blue fruit and better balance. I rarely like a wine on the third day, but this is the exception.
