93 Points

Sunday, August 12, 2018 - From an excellent looking bottle, I gave this wine 6 hours of air this time before I started drinking it. It had a deep yellow center and clear rims. The medium+ intensity nose offered up lemons, vanilla, marzipan, and white stone.

In the mouth, this wine was ripe with a lovely integrated texture (typical of Niellon) and firm acidty. The length was very good.

This wine was still quite young and not ready for prime time in my book. It has some edges and a bit of excess vanilla. It should continue to develop well. A very impressive Premier Cru that may pick up a point or so in 5-10 years. I am thinking the extended air showed me a different, and better, side of this wine.
