Saturday, January 1, 2011 - Medium brick red color with some thinning at the rim. Aromas of sweet cherry, cedar, cassis, and a hint of black truffle. On the palate this shows round cherry and cedar notes and a long black truffle finish. Sadly, this note is based upon the dregs that were not decanted, as the decanter was contaminated and imparted a cheesy flavor into the wine that got progressively worse as the night wore on. Judgement reserved, but seemingly a great wine under that cheese. Drink or hold.
