dark Ruby; rich nose of cedar, plum,black cherry; very ripe black cherry, dark plum flavors but not too fresh- has softness and elegance that restrains the California "fruit bomb" style, also hints of complex dark chocolate toasty notes beginning to emerge; great balance, good fruit, good mouth feel; very long finish but acidity keeps it "light"- no cloying "extracted" character. This is a pleasure to drink but for me- future tertiary character will make it 1-2 points better;10-15+ more yrs for that pinnacle, at least in magnum.
