Friday, July 27, 2012 - Dinner at Vidalia with PinkMoonWinery (Vidalia in DC): Since I so rarely drink old wine, I really wanted to try this when it was an option at the dinner with Pinkmoon.

This was definitely overshadowed by the Schrader and SQN that we had alongside this, but it was a great learning experience I think. This was made in a very different style to begin with, and it's also a style I don't have a lot of exposure to, since I tend to drink fairly young CA wines at this point.

This had an array of much more subtle, mature flavors, and was still drinking just fine. I got a bit of wood off of it, as well as cured meat and leather. Not much in the way of fruits I thought, and as PinkMoon noted in his note, there was some underlying flavor which wasn't the most pleasing. Maybe just a hint of TCA?
