Wednesday, August 13, 2014 - A Taste of Louis Roederer Champagne (K&L Wine Merchants(Redwood City, CA)): Very pale gold color with with plentiful, active, pin prick sized bubbles. On the nose it shows layered aromas. Initially there is lemon, orange and roasted nut aromas, followed by apple, peach, ginger and mineral aromas. On the palate, it's focused, and suave with an exceedingly creamy delicate mousse and pear, apple, citrus zest flavors with spicy top note, and an alluring chalky minerality. Long finish. Blend: 55% Pinot Noir, 45% Chardonnay
