Brownish with a garnet nucleus. And the strangest gelatine-like layer of sediment in the bottom of the bottle. Highly curious.
Oxidized character strong on the nose. Hazelnuts, figs and charcoal. Some cherry, wood oil and peaches.
Fullbodied, dense and chewy on the palate with pretty refreshing acidity, some tannic bite and ripe figgy to peachy fruit. Charcoaly textures, salt liquorice, mocha and tar. Long but dull nutty to salty finish.
Ok, rather sherryesque aromas, but rather enjoyable on the palate. Especially there's good weight on the mid-palate. But altogether it's really a shame the faded aromas couldn't animate the bold carcass of a once great wine.
