Sunday, January 6, 2013 - Beautiful purple with more of a brick undertone than expected for a 4-5 year old bottle. Bright fruit on the nose including bing cherry, which carries through on a long finish. Definitely an old world wine and starts off a little rough around the edges, but it has the backbone to make it worthwhile. Reasonably smooth tannins indicate this wine will be nice for 4-5 more years. Probably not going to be a favorite among napa cab lovers, but after 20 minutes in the glass, the edges rounded off and it was a really nice wine. No masking of anything with tons of vanilla oak. Just an honest red.
