Wednesday, November 26, 2014 - I recently began revisiting Rioja and I'm glad I did! Muga is a great traditional producer. Tasted two bottles within a month of each other. The nose was really nice with dark cherries, dried herbs, spice, leather and oak. The mouth feel was round with the oak and tannins very well integrated. The mid-palate was nice dark cherry more savory notes and finished medium length with good acidity. Fruit from their higher and bottling went into the 2008 Reserva.
