A little mute at first but really came alive with that delicious red fruit, pepper, spicy syrah finish- Some blackberry and licorice on the front with a little bit of black olive brine. Really nice- the 07 barrel sample I had remains the best US syrah I have ever had- better than Atlantis and Raven (only SQN's I have had). This wasn't in that league, but you could certainly see the lineage and this *tasted* like syrah.
