Saturday, September 3, 2016 - The wine was dark ruby in colour and threw some sediment. It offered dark berries, blackberry, chocolate, tobacco, black pepper, spices and cinnamon on the nose. On the palate the wine showed red and dark berries, cherry, blackberry, coffee, chocolate, cocoa, black pepper and liquorice, complemented by cinnamon on the finish, with good, lively acidity, ripe, medium to medium-plus tannin and average to good length. The ripe, modern, medium- to full-bodied, medium-complex wine had good concentration and a good mouthfeel. It was reasonably balanced except for some heat from the alcohol. Solid; very good value.
