Thursday, May 30, 2013 - Rather dark and inky, less than a Syrah. Intense black cherry/fruit nose that won't quit. Taste is the same, although more restrained with a lot of finesse and delicacy. This wine is best used as a fantastic "sipper", as it would be easy for some food to overwhelm it. The wine has a lot of depth and complexity, but it won't stand up to food with any spicy elements in it. That said, I can't think of a bottle of red I would rather have on a hot summer day just to quaff...chill to about 62-63 degrees (do not refrigerate). One of best $10-12 reds I have had and I am becoming a believer in Spanish Grenache.
