Wednesday, July 8, 2009 - Father-in-law opened the bottle I gave him several years ago with the Spectator WOTY cover. Overall, it was a great bottle, but didn't live up to the hype or the price, at least at this point in it's life. The nose was complex and engaging with cedar, black fruits, leather and spice. In the mouth however, it was rich but lacked the great finish I'd expect in a wine of this degree. This is a great bottle of wine now, but should continue to flesh out over the next 10+ years. If you only have one or two, hold them, if you have a bunch, go wild.
